Most people associate Christmas with two things: Family and good food. However, if we are honest, this holiday usually means stress and bad moods - not least because the cook is always alone in the kitchen and spends zero time with their guests. Let us do something about this!
Cinnamon – the quintessence of fall/winter. I LOVE cinnamon. I own a cinnamon shower gel, cinnamon candles, cinnamon perfume, and anything and everything else you can think of. So no one will be surprised by the fact that I love cinnamon rolls.
One of the best low carb vegetables is cauliflower. Have you ever tried cauliflower pizza? It is the bomb. This could only get better by adding the best kind of meat: chicken. Add some heavy cream and a few spices – et voila! The tastiest healthy-ish chicken recipe ever.
There is an undefined number of recipes for sauce and an ongoing discussion about toppings (pineapple does go on pizza, duh!), but for me, the dough is the hardest part. It has taken me years to find a good recipe for pizza dough.
I know, cookies are great and all, but who can resist a slice of warm cheesecake? No one – and even less when it is Russischer Zupfkuchen (Russian Chocolate Cheesecake).
Swabian food is comfort food. It is hearty, filling and makes you feel oh so good. It is hard to choose a favourite, but Haschee is definitely up there.
Like every good member of Gen Z, I love avocados. Avocado on toast, avocado with tuna, avocado in salads. But my number one avocado dish is definitely guacamole.
Of my favourite, more healthy-ish snacks is banana bread. Find my favourite recipe here.
My absolute favourite are plums and with them Zwetschgenkuchen aka plum cake. A tasty dough with a juicy fruit filling and crispy streusels – for my family, not a year goes by without us baking this delicious cake together at least once.
Today is the day: my six-month internship comes to an end.
