Last year, I made a conscious effort to buy from small business and shop as locally as possible. There are many benefits to buying from small businesses. Here are some of them:
- It reduces your carbon footprint.
- It supports your local community.
- It creates local jobs.
- It’s more personal.
- You get great customer service.
- You’re supporting local not-for-profits.
- You’re encouraging innovation.
I have found quite a few gems, some of which I shop from regularly now.
So here are some of my favourite small businesses I shopped from in 2021:
The wonderful Nu over at @nu.artwear has an amazing small business for jewellery made from clay! She makes beautiful pieces in all colours, her packaging is so cute and personal, and she has a wonderful instagram profile with messages about self-love and happiness. Well worth checking her out!
Lena at ColoredDog makes beautiful leashes and collars in all colours and variations. They are super sturdy and customisable in all kinds of ways. She is super nice and has an open ear for all your wishes and ideas for your personalised leas and collar set. Her sets make wonderful presents for all dog lovers or yourself and your fur baby.
In her shop cutelittlebumblebee, Leonie makes the cutest crocheted stuffed animals. They are such good quality, look super adorable, and make great gifts for anyone who likes stuffed animals in general. I cannot recommend her enough!
