As someone who loves the cold, Autumn/Fall and Winter are my favourite seasons. Over are the times where I am nearly drowning in my sweat. If you are cold, you can always put on an extra sweater or a jacket. If you are too hot, what do you do? There is only so much clothing you can take off, and then what? Do you get rid of the top layer of your skin? Summer sucks – there, I said it!
So I am all the more excited for colder days, being able to pop on some cute knitwear, getting cosy on the couch with a hot cup of tea and a fuzzy blanket and watching all my favourite comfort movies from Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings. The time has come!
To get the best out of the season, there are a few essentials to make your Autumn/Fall days even more special. So, here are my top five favourite Autumn/Fall items.
1 Blanket with Sleeves
I know, at first glance, these things look like a waste of money. But how annoying is it to be wrapped into a blanket and having to get your arms out of your little bubble of warmth to get something? Sleeves on blankets are honestly so helpful! You can hold your book, phone, or cup of tea without having to bother messing with the blanket. Honestly, these are just some of the best things ever. But beware, folding them is an absolute pain.

2 Wood Wick Candles
We all know you cannot have a cosy Autumn/Fall day without lighting a scented candle. But why not step up your game and light a wood wick candle instead? These candles are often scented just like regular ones but burn way more beautifully due to the wood wick. It almost feels like you have lit a little bonfire on your table – obviously without the dangers of lighting your table on fire. They create such a cosy atmosphere and even make the little crackling sounds a proper fire makes. If you like candles, you should definitely give these a go.

3 Hand Lotion
This one might seem obvious, but Autumn/Fall and Winter are the seasons of cheap scented hand lotion that does one thing: namely, nothing. While they smell nice and sometimes even burn the inside of your nose straight off because the scene is so intense, they hardly moisturize anything and often leave a disgusting sticky residue on your skin. While I can fully relate to buying cute scented things, get something that actually does good for your skin. If you are not sure what to get, just go out and test some things or see your dermatologist. Every person’s skin is different, so this might take a while, but your hands will thank you for this. Because the cold air is a bitch.
After all, your Autumn/Fall favourites are all about enjoying the season and yourself. So take this time to treat yourself, focus on the good things in life, and take a breather from all the summer action.
While summer is all about fun, Autumn/Fall is all about yourself.
