Some times are more challenging than others. A busy work schedule, personal problems, dealing with the loss of a loved one, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the current state of affairs. These and many more reasons are valid reasons to struggle with your mental health. Sometimes, these situations feel like you are stuck in quicksand: the more you struggle against it, the deeper you get caught in it. So sometimes, instead of trying to struggle, we need to take a step back and reflect, even if it feels like we don’t have the time to do so.
Here are Six (Essential) Mental Health Reminders
One
You don’t need to be productive 24/7.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your mental health is to take a step back and rest.
Two
You deserve to be uplifted, not put down.
Actively surround yourself with people who truly want the best for you and make you feel great about yourself.
Three
This might sound obvious, but you deserve to be happy.
Reach out for help when you need it and focus o what you actually want for yourself, not others’ expectations.
Four
There are so many people who care about you.
Your mind might tell you that you’re alone – but you’re not! You are loved by so many people.
Five
You are much more resilient than you think.
You’ve made it through 100% of your worst days and are so much stronger than you think.
Six
There is no shame in getting mental health support.
Asking for help can feel like a huge step but please know that there is always someone to talk to.
